Happy Memorial Weekend!

THANKS SO MUCH!

ARLINGTON
© 1990 by Marian H. Neudel

The bloodied sun sinks in the west

And lights us all with glory;

Here sleep the brave in honored rest;

The bugler tells our story;

O dulce et decorum est pro patria mori;

O dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.

Go tell the people, passer-by,

Read the stone before ye,

Tis sweet and fitting that we die

For our country's glory;

Obedient to your will we lie

Pro patria mori;

O dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.

From under stone we've often seen

These lures to empty glory;

We know what deaths these words can mean,

Lonely, cold and gory;

We find these Latin words obscene,

Pro patria mori,

O dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori.

We have no country of our own,

We who sleep in glory;

We died your hatreds to atone,

Still you shun our story;

Oh write no more on any stone,

Pro patria mori;

O dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori.

Party Hearty!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. This card was inspired by Mojo Monday's sketch #192. I'm a little late in posting it, but better late than never. I had a bit of a challenge with this one because the scalloped piece called for it to be covered. I had a hard time trying to find a piece that wasn't too busy to cover with the ribbon element after? And then there was this little fella I had from a long time ago when I was first starting out with stamping. I couldn't figure out out to color him without making him too scary looking? lol But as you can see I managed. I wanted to portray a "party animal" with the banners and then the sentiment pretty much helped me out in the end. I hope you like it!

Youth and Age

Hello folks, thanks for stopping by. Todays card was just something I wanted to put together for a friend whose birthday is coming soon, so I thought I whip one up from a couple of my designer paper leftovers.
I just wanted to show some simplicity and well as add a couple of embossing details. I hope you like.

Happiness in Friendships

Hello all, thanks for stopping by. Today's card is thanks to Jen Del Muro's I{heart}2stamp monthly sketch.
I really liked working with this sketch, it helped me work with less paper and use a technique rarely use.
Once again I used My Mind's Eye Stella Rose - Hattie and frayed the edges for a different  look. My favorite part was the flower, the twine and string swirls. I punched two different size circles and used the stronger adhesive tape and then secured the string and twine slowly starting from the outside. I hope you like, Happy scrapping.

Birthday Banner

Greeting all, thanks for stopping by! Today's card required a little more brain power of my own..lol. What i mean is I didn't need a sketch to inspire this one. I just really like this paper for My mind's eye Fine and Dandy-True blue. I love buying these 6x6 collection pads to keep me from wasting paper and I appreciate it more. And it also helps me use every bit of scrap I have.

But I also purchased the coordinating chipboard and brads to help with building up to the dynamic of the card. And my favorite thing to do to my cards is to lift everything off the card rather than just slapping on some paper and have everything so flat. I hope you like, happy creating!

Happy Friday the13th all..lol I don't know what exactly that all en tales, but some people get very superstitious on this day? Anyway, thanks for stopping by to check out my latest card creation. Todays card is inpired by this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

I gotta say that this card really made me smile. I bought the print paper at the local scrapbook shop and I ran into this and fell in love with it instantly! I know that some of these prints may call for something more masculine, but I made it work. I hope you like it. Happy scrapping!

Robot Birthday

Hello, thanks for stopping by. Today's card is inspired by this weeks My Favorite Things sketch  - MFTWSC18 which is hosted by Frances aka StampOwl.

I went to this new scrapbook store, well not new, just new to me...lol. And I just fell in love with this cute Lil' Robots print paper from My Mind's Eye. I just thought it would make a really cute kids birthday card for my little nephew. I just wanted to keep it simple in centerpiece because the printed paper was just enough. I hope you like. Happy Stamping!

Fun in the Sun!

Hello folks, thanks for stopping by. Since it's been glorious these past couple of days here in SoCal I thought I reflect that on a card. And I used this weeks Mojo Monday challenge, along with this yummy paper from My Mind's Eye-Fine & Dandy True blue.
This was a fun sketch to work with because I was able construct it to convey the three elements... sky, water, and sand with the these prints. And I've had this clear stamp set from Inkadinkado Coastal/Maritime for some time now that I finally get to use.

Supplies:
Stamps: Inkadinkado Coastal/Maritime
Paper: SU! Crumb, Whisper white, My Mind's Eye-Fine & Dandy True blue.

Ink: SU! Baja breeze, Summer sun, Chocolate chip, Stazon black, Old olive.
Accessories: Twine, eyelets, pop-ups
Tools: SU!Oval scallop punch, Scallop edge punch, Spellbinder Nestabilities scallop edge circle.
